CHESNEY'S HOME IN KEY WEST TOO GOOD TO BE GOOD

CHESNEY'S HOME IN KEY WEST TOO GOOD TO BE GOOD

ImageAfter Kenny Chesney bought a new house in Key West, it was a kind of "there goes the neighborhood," kind of situation. It was cool that somebody as popular as Kenny was moving into the hood...but it created so much attention it soon wasn't so cool for Kenny who decided to put the place back on the market.

"It's funny how you can be moving out before you even move in," says Kenny, laughing about the big news about his new house in Key West. "I may've been naive to think I could just go down to the Keys and disappear... because that was the idea. I wanted to find a place where I could just be, and thought I'd found it. But with all the buzz since we signed the papers, the last thing I want to do to someplace I love as much as Key West is change the dynamics, especially for the locals who have been so good to me... So, I'm stopping the insanity before it begins. The For Sale sign is back up, and I'm just not going to be able to take possession of the house."

DIERKS PREMIERES "MY BEST ALBUM YET" ON MySPACE MUSIC

ImageMySpace Music <http://www.myspace.com/music>  announces the exclusive premiere of Dierks Bentley’s new album, Feel That Fire. The highly anticipated 4th studio album is available for streaming today- a full five days before the official release on Tuesday, February 3rd. The exclusive debut marks the first country album premiere for MySpace Music.
"I know everybody always says it, but I REALLY mean it when I say that this is the best album I've ever made...we came off the road for the first time in 6 years and took our time to make sure it was just right," explains Dierks Bentley.  "I'm not the kind of guy, who wants to go into the studio every two years and just keep putting out more of the same. I really wanted to change our initial approach to the recording process...do it in more of a rock and roll, or an old outlaw kind of country way.  Use your guys; go in the studio; take the clock off the wall.  Now, my passion has totally shifted to getting these songs heard by everybody."

FAITH HILL PRAISES HUDSON FIRST POST TRAGEDY PERFORMANCE AT SUPER BOWL

Faith Hill has praised Jennifer Hudson for choosing the Super Bowl as her first performance since the slayings of her mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew.

Hudson will sing the national anthem before Sunday's game between the Arizona Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers. It will be her first public appearance since the October slayings.

"She is a strong girl, a girl of faith," Hill said Thursday. "I believe to come and perform the national anthem, which is this country's favorite song, at a time that our country is stepping up and moving forward for future generations — I think it's just the perfect choice."

"I have not spoken to Jennifer, but there has not been a day that's gone by that she has not been in my family's prayers," said Hill who will sing "America The Beautiful" at the Pre Game show.

BILLY RAY CYRUS...BACK TO BASICS WITH "BACK TO TENNESSEE"

Billy Ray Cyrus' new single, "Back To Tennessee," shows that he's gone back to the basics that made him a star to begin with. Initially his monster debut hit "Achy Breaky Heart" launched him as a star...but, the whimsical tune seemed to automatically label BRC as a novelty artist, before he changed that impression after he scored subsequent, heavyweight hits like '"Could've Been Me," "She's Not Cryin' Anymore," and "In the Heart of the Woman." Those songs showcased that Cyrus was one of the most effective interpreters of emotional songs in the business...and he's reminded the world by returning to those basic truths about his singing ability with "Back To Tennessee."

Billy Ray reflects that when he talks about "Back To Tennessee,"  saying, "Back to Tennessee' is the story of my life,  honestly. When you hear the lyrics of this song, it's basically written about, me going back to my roots to where I belong and to where the music is, where my heart is."

THE LOST TRAILERS SUPER BOWL CONNECTION

The smash success of Lost Trailers' single, "Holler Back," led to the recording of customized football team versions being played across the nation, and now, the Super Bowl version of "Holler Back" is set to kick-off Westwood One's exclusive radio coverage of the big game (4pm, ET), airing on more than 600 U-S stations and in 175 foreign countries.
For the band, the chance to play a part in such an amazing event is a thrill that the group's Ryder Lee says with a smile is like having their music take them where their athletic prowess may have fallen a bit short. Ryder says, "It still feels kind of crazy rollin' off the tongue...The Lost Trailers' music in, any way, shape or form, being part of the Super Bowl...pretty cool."

TOBY KEITH TO LAUNCH "TK STEELMAN" CLOTHING LINE

ImageAdd fashion plate to Toby Keith's list of stuff he does so well, singer, songwriter, producer, actor, label  proprietor, restaurateur, entertainer, celebrity spokesperson, as Toby launches his  very own clothing line, TK Steelman, Feb. 18th, at his own I Love This Bar & Grill in Harrah's Las Vegas.

The line was developed in partnership with Toby's merchandise company, Royal  Merchandising Group, which already produces merchandise for Keith's   restaurants. The launch date coincides with the MAGIC Marketplace  convention held Feb. 17-19 in Las Vegas. TK Steelman will have a
strong presence at the show, which is the world's largest fashion
trade event.

DETAILS: The initial launch will appeal to men in the 25-54 demo with
a range of options including long-sleeve shirts, t-shirts, polos,
sweatshirts, jeans, cowboy hats, baseball caps, bandanas, belts,
leather wrist straps and more. Each item has been personally approved
by Toby Keith. The look mixes the influences Keith brings to his own wardrobe – part  rocker and part biker with a "country sexy" aesthetic punctuated by oilfield imagery in the brand's logos and font selections. And yes...the brand will feature plenty of sleeveless shirts.

The entry-level line, aimed at retailers like Kohl's, Target, Wal-Mart and Macy's, will expand to women following its initial launch.

WOULD BILLY CURRINGTON DUET AGAIN WITH SHANIA?

Image
Back in 2004 when Billy Currington scored a Top 7 hit duet with Shania Twain, it was a big boost to his career. Question became when Shania indicated she was working on new music, would Billy like to sing with her again? His answer was he would and he wouldn't want to.

"I actually called her up at one point and said, 'Hey are you ready to get going again?' and  she she was like, 'No.'  I don't know if we'll ever do it again. It was a great experience, like that experience when you do a duet with someone and it happens so good and it boosts your career, it's like you just want to keep that special and never do it again with that one person. But, it was so much fun I would do it again...but I wouldn't, you know what I mean?"

FOR KEITH URBAN TIMING WAS EVERYTHING

Keith Urban made his first run at Nashville in 1989, and he says a rejection letter convinced him that his timing wasn't right, but that he was good enough to make it at some point.

"Timing’s a big part of it, musical timing, what the current landscape is at radio," Keith tells us.  "I remember when I came over in ‘89 I got a letter back from somebody at a record company who basically said, 'I really love your music' but I think the quote was, 'Radio is currently enjoying a traditional climate of which you wouldn’t be a part of.  So I hope you find a good home in Nashville and hopefully the pendulum will swing that way to what you do.'  And it was so well put and  it really made sense to me and it gave me inspiration to say it’s not that you’re not good enough, it’s just that you’re not compatible with what’s going on at the moment.  So that was all I needed to get back here and dig in."

Blake Shelton has reached the top of the charts, R&R Singles and MediaBase Singles, with his “She Wouldn’t Be Gone,” powered by his spot on, heart-tuging vocals.  This is Shelton’s second consecutive #1 – the follow up to “Home” – and his fifth career #1 which includes “Austin,” “The Baby,” “Some Beach” and “Home.  Collectively they held the #1 spot for fifteen weeks. “She Wouldn’t Be Gone” is the first single from Shelton’s most recent release Startin’ Fires and was also #1 on the MusicRow Singles chart the last two weeks of 2008.
This move is just more evidence that Shelton is on a roll, making an appearance on E! Networks “Chelsea Lately,” performing on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” not-to-mention superstar George Strait announced Shelton would be on his summer tour.

JOHN BURNS AND STEPHEN MCCORD CRANK UP THE SERVICE STATION
Artist Development Company To Offer Full Suite Of Label Services

 PRESS RELEASE:
Entertainment industry veterans John Burns and Stephen McCord today announce the opening of The Service Station – a full service entertainment artist development company, specializing in marketing, distribution and artist management consultant services, including the physical and digital delivery of music and entertainment products to independent and national retail accounts. The Service Station offers á la carte or packaged services for both new and established artists in areas of artist & repertoire, brand imaging, licensing, manufacturing, apparel merchandising, public relations, radio promotion, and retail sales.
As the role of the traditional record label continues to evolve, The Service Station represents a new type of entertainment-based service company, one that may offer a glimpse into the next generation record label model. TSS offers the project continuity and expertise of a label without the need for 360 deals, master recording ownership or long-term contracts. The Service Station is a fee-based company, whose label service support extends across several music genres, including Americana, AAA, Bluegrass, Christian, Country, Hip-Hop, and Pop/Rock.
"In today’s digital revolution, the balance of power is clearly shifting from record labels to artists,” says Stephen McCord. “Tremendous opportunities are emerging for do-it-yourself artists and managers across multiple entertainment platforms.” McCord states that creativity, speed, and the ability to anticipate trends are critical for success. "To borrow the phrase," explains McCord, "in today’s industry climate, it’s not so much about the big eating the small, but the fast eating the slow." In addition to providing label services for recording artists, The Service Station offers highly customized marketing programs for film/television production studios and advertising agencies. These specialty programs are a Service Station signature – creative, compelling, highly efficient and cost effective. Recently, the company was hired to promote the theatrical release of the film Crazy, a biopic on the life of session-guitarist Hank Garland.
"The Service Station is the result of our commitment to professional excellence, accountability, and a tenacious desire to advance the careers of the artists, labels, and projects we represent," states John Burns. Collectively, Burns and McCord represent over 50 years of combined award-winning major and independent label sales, marketing and distribution experience. "We have established a very legitimate network of business partnerships that are capable of competing at extremely high levels of support, regardless of the scope and scale of a given project, says Burns" Current clients include Favored Nations Entertainment Films (headed by Grammy winning recording artist Steve Vai), film star and Grammy winner Waylon Payne as well as new country artist projects Williams-Riley, Derek Sholl and hip-hop duo Cipher.

DID YOU KNOW THIS ABOUT SARA EVANS?

ImageDid you that when Sara Evans was growing up her family didn't just barbecue steaks, chicken or ribs during the  summer, they roasted goat?

Sara grew up on a Missouri farm where her family threw a big goat roast for their extended families, and they didn't even have to bring their own goat.

"No, no, we supplied the goat," laughs Sara.  And we would just jam, I mean 'cause everybody in my family plays an instrument, even my youngest sister Alex, is a fiddle player.  So, so we just jam and we are a big baseball family.  So we play baseball all the time."
