Having won nearly 40 major awards trophies in the first decade of their career, Rascal Flatts’ Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney will gather early next week to celebrate the more than seventy-five songwriters who have contributed their creative talent to the band’s 6 previously released studio albums.

“It all starts with a song, we’ve believed that from day one,” said Jay DeMarcus. “We are so grateful and humbled by the fact that so many of Nashville's finest song writers have been with us on this incredible ride. We've lent our voices to some of these songs that have, quite literally, changed people’s lives.  What an enormous blessing.  This is just our small way of saying thanks for an incredible first ten years and then, toasting to the next ten!”

Among those to be honored include the seventeen writers of Rascal Flatts 11 #1 singles, including Blair Daly, Marcus Hummon, Wendell Mobley, Jeffrey Steele, and Neil Thrasher.

KEVIN FOWLER SIGNS TO LYRIC STREET RECORDS

Lyric Street Records and Triple 8 Management gathered in Waco, Texas over the weekend to celebrate the signing of Kevin Fowler to the label’s artist roster prior to his show at The Heart of Texas Complex. A native of Amarillo, Texas, Fowler is an all-around artist who rocks his distinctive brand of southern country from the stage, winning devoted fans with such crowd favorites as “Beer Season” and “Best Mistake I Ever Made,” and delivers solidly as a songwriter, with such credits that include Montgomery Gentry’s recording “Long Line Of Losers” and George Jones’ recording “Beer, Bait And Ammo.”

With an already established loyal fanbase in the Southwest that has allowed him to sell more than 325,000 albums, and, in 2009 alone, over 180,000 hard tickets as a headlining act, Lyric Street Records is set to launch Fowler to country radio and retail at a national level.

Kevin Fowler’s first music on Lyric Street Records is expected this Spring.

MIRANDA'S "WHITE LIARS" GIVES TWO PEOPLE SOMETHING TO CELEBRATE, MIRANDA AND NATALIE

SONGWRITER, Natalie Hemby hasn't slept much lately and she doesn't care! The young woman who wrote Lee Ann Womack's critically heralded “The Bees,” the title track to Carrie Underwood's new Play On and the Eli Young Band's “Making A Mystery” lands her very first #1 country single - Miranda Lambert's “White Liar” - also becoming her first #1 record.

“I was texting Miranda all night…I was calling radio stations late at night… into the final hours,” Hemby confesses without a laugh. “Even if it wasn't my song, I wanted this so bad for Miranda. She deserved a #1 because she's so talented and wonderful and such a good girl.”

Hemby also co-wrote “Only Prettier,” “Airstream Song” and “Virginia Bluebell” to Lambert's Revolution, which is garnering some of the strongest in a career of critical acclaim.
“I knew that Miranda, who is so talented, was a huge deal,” Henby explains. “I knew she could do it all herself, so I just wanted to figure out what I could add or fill in to what she was doing. I have this little Miranda vault with ideas and lines that I think would fit her… you know, 'like only prettier…,' which is clever and funny just like her.

BURNS AND POE TO CRS

The Burns and Poe pairing combines the extraordinary talents of Keith Burns (Trick Pony) and Michelle Poe (formerly a Dreamworks recording artist and bassist for Hank Williams, Jr. and Dierks Bentley). Newly signed to Blue Steel Records, Keith and Michelle make their first Blue Steel introduction to country radio with the high-energy single "Don't Get No Better Than That" which is officially at radio February 2, 2010 (CDX Vol. 487). The corresponding music video is coming to big screen TV's across the nation in the coming days.

Burns & Poe are slated to release their first full-length album in Spring 2010.
