TAYLOR SWIFT SHOW PART 2

Just a few more thoughts about the evolution of  Taylor Swift who’ began as a wide-eyed, ready-for-anything, teenage singer who owes her success to writing and singing songs that touched the hearts and souls of a generation of teenaged girls and the mothers that brought them to her concerts in droves. Well, she’s long since become a full-fledged, powerful woman and certified country Superstar with a road show that can only be described as an extravaganza (noun..an elaborate and spectacular entertainment or production).

Taylor is also the ring master of the show that’s a little bit country, rock and  roll, The Opry, Broadway, Vegas, Hollywood, and a generous dose of Glee. There’s nothing on the road quite like it that we’re aware of. And, it succeeds because of the power, intelligence, and limitless energy of country’s newest diva. Swift is singing more sweetly and powerul than ever, doing her famous hair-whipping better than ever (though we hope she keeps a chiropractor on staff just in case). She plays multiple instruments, guitar, piano, banjo, drums, Liberty bells, ukelele and more.
Also, she handles the hosting job well, when interviewing guests on the L.A. show like Ellen Degeneres, and impressed the audience when she went funky, note for note with her other guest on Sunday’s L.A. show, Nicki Minaj, on her tounge-wisting, romp, “Super Bass.”

Taylor’s physical always on the move, never breaking a sweat, climbing here and there, flying here and there, diving into crowds to physically touch as many fans as she can, manages to get close and eye level with every section of the arena including eye-to-eye in the high, nose-bleed seats. All while never skipping a beat or missing a cue. She even gets catapulted from under the stage to on top. Her talent, stamina, stage generalship, audience connection, patter and performance amounts to the true meaning of a tour du force. And, she did it all four nights in a row becoming the only artist we know, besides Garth Brooks, to sellout 4 consecutive nights at Staples Arena.

Kudos go to her, her stage designers and managers, directors, musicians, acrobatic dancers, and more, for a show that will rank as a truly memorable event for any fan, young or old, that takes it in.

CHESNEY THROWS HURRICANE PARTY FOR 59,000 FANS

Hurricane rains did nothing to dampen the enthusiasm of Kenny Chesney's fans on Saturday in Foxboro, MA, as 2,000 tickets released on the day of the show were snapped up within minutes despite hurricane warnings, bringing the attendance for Saturday's show to 59,000 and the total for Chesney's two sold-out Gillette Stadium shows to over 106,000.

As the first ring of storms from Hurricane Irene showered the capacity crowd in advance of Sunday 's expected storm impact, Chesney celebrated the close of his 2011 'Goin' Coastal' Tour with a triumphant set that included a massive crowd sing-along on "She's From Boston," a high kicking chorus line by Billy Currington and his band on "No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems," an audacious version of "Baby Got Back" with Zac Brown Band, and a mid-set award by CMA President Steve Moore to Chesney keyboardist Wyatt Beard as the CMA's first-ever 'Touring Musician of the Year.' Chesney was jubilant during the show, calling the Foxboro crowd "one of the loudest and most loving crowds of the tour." Beach balls flew through the air and a sunny spirit prevailed while waves of rain drenched the audience and the performers several times throughout the evening.

VINCE GILL RELEASES DEBUT SINGLE FROM NEW ALBUM

Vince Gill has released “Threaten Me With Heaven,” a powerful song that is the debut single from Guitar Slinger, which is due Oct. 24 and is his first new album in five years.

Vince wrote or co-wrote every song on the album, including “Threaten Me With Heaven,” which he created with his wife Amy Grant, Dillon O’Brian and Will Owsley, who died last year.

“‘Threaten Me With Heaven’ is a song that I was fortunate to get to be a part of,” he says. “My wife Amy, Dillon O’Brian and Will Owsley were at our home working on that song. I think I had been playing golf or something. I walked into the house and they said, ‘Hey, we’re kind of stuck.’ I’m glad I came home because I got to sit down and help finish a great idea.

“Since I recorded it, my friend Will, who played guitar and sang on it, took his own life, so the song has a really profound impact on me now.  The message of the song and what it is saying, I will probably always think of my guitar-playing buddy.”
