CHECKIN' IN WITH THE TOP TEN
BLAKE SHELTON WALKS THE FINE LINE BETWEEN SUCCESS AND FAILURE
Countryforever.com
Blake Shelton says he made a point to pour a lot of what was going on in his personal life into his Pure BS album, from his divorce, to his relationship with Miranda Lambert. And, as successful as that's been for him, Blake says when he makes his next album, he'll be open to whatever it takes to keep his escalating success going.
"This album was just a reflection of my life and I wish that's all it had to be about in the music industry. But I know that the next time I go into the studio, I'll be thinking about what worked and what didn't work on this album and make the right decisions on the next album. You're just kidding yourself if you say, 'well I'm just going to make my music and everybody else can kiss my ass,' because if you do that it's a way to end up one of the guys you wonder what happened to. There's things you have to do, to do what you want to do," Blake concludes wisely.
KEITH URBAN SAYS HE'S STILL TRAVELING THE GOLDEN ROAD
Countryforever.com
Keith Urban tells us that if people want to know which album symbolizes his success as an artist, they should listen to his second album from 2002, Golden Road.
"To me I think it just represents a place, an ideological place I guess, and to some degree where I feel like that I’m at in my little musical journey. To me the musical journey is the golden road, that’s life. It’s finally finding a good patch of road and fortunately I made a record at that time when I was right in the midst of finding that good piece. And I think for me, being able to keep making records -- I think to still make records and be able to tour, get up on stage and play which is, my life blood is playing music, whether it’s recording it or playing it live or listening to it -- to be able to keep doing that every day that I get up is absolutely to be on the Golden Road."
MONTGOMERY GENTRY ROLL OUT "ROLL WITH ME"
Countryforever.com
Montgomery Gentry has released "Roll With Me," the latest single from their Back When I knew It All CD. Troy Gentry steps out as the lead on this unique presentation of one way to say, I Love You, so..."Roll With Me."
TRACE ADKINS RELEASES "MUDDY WATER"
Trace Adkins has released his southern anthem plea for redemption found in countless muddy streams within reach of every backwoods' preacher and needful sinner.
AFTER A TASTE OF REALITY, JIMMY WAYNE SAVORS NEW SUCCESS
Countryforever.com
Now that his song "Do You Believe Me Now," has gotten him back in the Top 10, Jimmy Wayne says he's savoring his newfound success.
"I've been off the radar for three years and change and it feels so good to be back with a hit song," Jimmy says flat out. "I believed with all my heart that I was going to get another chance at this thing. All I needed was a song but I wasn't going to s top. I feel real confident, haven't felt this confident since the beginning of my career. Those three years of waiting definitely let you take a bite out of the business and choke on a piece of reality and a whole new appreciation for this business," says Jimmy as he savors his sweet return to the higher levels of the charts.
BIG & RICH WRAP UP TOURING IN '08
Big & Rich rocked a crowd of screaming fans and announced it would be their final show of 2008. The announcement, made live from the stage, was accompanied by a massive roar of ‘boos’ from the audience. They followed with “So we are going to hit it as hard as we can tonight."
DID YOU KNOW THIS... ABOUT ALAN JACKSON?
Countryforever.com
Did you know that Alan Jackson hated school and dropped out of college as soon as he could to enroll in the school of hard knocks as a country singer?
We once asked Alan Jackson about his schooling and he admitted he admitted he wasn't a great student and considered his time in the school of hard knocks in Nashville his "college degree."
" Oh yeah. When I got out of high school I didn't want to go to college. I hate school. And, I went (to college) for two years until I went through all the P.E. courses that were available in the curriculum and then I dropped out," Alan reveals.
"When I moved to Nashville it took me about four and a half years to get started. I felt like that's my college there. You go to Nashville and it took me four years of learnin' and working hard just like if I was going to medical school or something to get to a point where I was ready and able to make the music work. So I look back at those days like I was living in an apartment and going to college or something, you know, for that time and sacrificing like I had to."
QUESTION OF THE DAY
IT TOOK WAYLON JENNINGS NEARLY A DECADE FROM HIS DEBUT SINGLE IN 1965, "THAT'S THE CHANCE I'LL TAKE," TO 1974 TO SCORE HIS FIRST #1 HIT AND THEN ANOTHER, WHAT WERE THEY?
After scoring 13 Top 10 hits, Waylon Jennings scored his first #1 with "This Time," and followed that up by hitting #1 again with "I'm A Ramblin' Man."

DOLLY PARTON WRAPS MOST SUCCESSFUL EUROPEAN TOUR
DOLLY PARTON celebrates the most successful European tour of her 40-plus year career, where she performed 17 shows to over 170,000 fans, surpassing her then-best 2007 European tour, where she played 21 shows for over 140,000 people.
